FAQs

Electrification refers to the transition from fossil fuel-based heating and cooling systems to electric alternatives, such as heat pumps, to enhance energy efficiency and reduce environment impact.

Despite the name, heat pumps do double duty, heating your home when it’s cold outside AND functioning as an AC when temperatures and humidity are on the rise.

Energy-efficient heat pumps can save you up to 50% on your heating and cooling bills when you replace an older AC and furnace. In addition, residential heat pumps can reduce your carbon footprint by 38-53%1 when switching from a natural gas furnace.

In general, heat pumps will last about 15 years, the same as air conditioners. By changing the filter regularly and scheduling professional HVAC maintenance, you may be able to prolong the life of your heat pump system.

It’s a great time to take advantage of the numerous incentives for short-term savings and long-term HVAC benefits by upgrading to a heat pump. Trane offers many products that qualify for the Inflation Reduction Act’s 25C tax credit. This means, you may be eligible to claim up to $3,200* in tax credits with the purchase of a qualifying Trane qualifying pump. In addition, your state or local municipality may offer additional rebate programs related to energy-efficient upgrades.

*Enjoy annual tax credits as a homeowner from January 2023 to December 31, 2025, regardless of your income level. Savings are available nationwide and include tax credit savings depending on the HVAC system purchased. See your participating independent local utility for complete program details, including eligibility, restrictions, and effective dates. Local utilities will determine final rules regarding participation, rebate submissions, and payouts. Offers may have different effective dates, subject to local utility discretion. Offers are valid on Qualifying Equipment only. Consult your tax professional to determine availability of incentives and eligibility.
