A ductless HVAC system, or mini-split system, is a heating and cooling system designed to deliver warm or cool air to a single room, or several, without the need for connective ductwork. Both single-zone and multi-zone ductless systems have an outdoor unit and one or more indoor units mounted in the ceiling, high on the wall, or at floor level. Single-zone mini-split systems are a great option for a single space such as room additions, sunrooms, garages, or areas of the home that need to be warmer or cooler.

Multi-split systems are energy-efficient options for new construction, older homes without ductwork, and other areas. You get zone control where you can adjust the temperature for up to 5-8 separate rooms, depending on the system you choose.

Yes. Mini-split heat pumps and multi-zone heat pumps heat and cool rooms just like a regular heat pump. You also have the option of a cooling-only unit. A >mini-split air conditioning system just cools your space.

We have one multi-split heat pump that can be paired with a wide variety of indoor units to suit your heating and cooling needs as well as your personal style. The multi-split heat pump provides the power behind the heating and cooling.  Then you’ll need to choose the indoor unit style and location. Options include ceiling-mounted, high wall-mounted, and floor-level mounted.

These systems are built to last. With proper maintenance, most ductless multi-split systems will last for 15+ years. The multi-split outdoor and the indoor units both need to be maintained. More on that below.

Ductless system maintenance is similar to traditional HVAC maintenance, and regular maintenance can help prolong the life of your system. One big difference is the air filters are cleanable and don’t have to be replaced every few months.
